Position: Court Reporter

Location: Washington, DC

Jamison Professional Services, Inc. (“JPS”) is currently seeking qualified and motivated professional for the position of Court Reporter.

Functions, qualifications, and skills:

  1. On-site Court Reporter support services in Washington, DC.
  2. Off-site Court Reporter support services in Baltimore, MD, Denver, CO and Nashville, TN.
  3. Off-site Court Reporter support services can be provided through telephone, VTEL, VANTS or Lync online services
  4. Candidates must have their own equipment in order to transcribe recorded material (Stenographic machine/computer or dictate material into a recording machine)
  5. The Court Reporter shall read portions of transcript during the investigation hearing at the investigator’s or administrative judge’s request, and ask speakers to clarify inaudible statements.
  6. Shall be able to provide services from Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm for each respective time zone in the Continental United States.
  7. Candidate MUST be available to continue with assignment if a proceeding lasts more than 1 days or lasts several days
  8. The candidate will receive a 7 day advance notice of where to report and perform services.
  9. Candidate must arrive at the designated location at least 30 minutes prior to the time of the designated hearing; in case of a telephonic investigation/hearing, candidates shall make telephone contact to the presiding official at least 30 minutes prior to the start time
  10. Candidate must be competent to administer oaths.
  11. Immediately after the completion of the individual assignment, the recording is to be sent to the JPS UNLESS it is to be transcribed by the same person whom is performing the Court Reporter support services for JPS.
  12. Court Reporter shall be certified in accordance with state laws where the service is being performed. With the few exceptions of a few states that require court reporters to pass unique state exams. We recognize certifications granted through National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA). You must be able to provide the proper certification upon request.
  13. This is a part-time or SOMETIME assignment. The services will be performed ONLY when required by the Government. Please note: THIS IS NOT A FULL TIME ASSIGNMENT
  14. A candidate level of background investigation and clearance is required for this assignment; A Tier One National Agency Check and Inquires (NACI) and a Special Agreement Check (SAC).

U.S. Citizenship: Must be able to successfully pass a Federal Government level background check.
